This Risk Assessment document has been prepared for Share Nature Together to identify, assess, and mitigate potential risks associated with delivering nature-based experiences and programs. The purpose is to ensure the safety, wellbeing, and inclusion of all participants, staff, and community partners.

Forest Bathing Walks

Potential Risks: Slips, trips, or falls on uneven ground

Risk Level: Medium

Control Measures: Clear pathways, staff guidance, appropriate footwear, first aid kit available

Outdoor Group Activities

Potential Risks: Adverse weather (heat, rain, storms)

Risk Level: High

Control Measures: Monitor weather forecast, provide shade/shelter, reschedule if unsafe

Intergenerational Programs

Potential Risks: Emotional distress or misunderstanding between age groups

Risk Level: Low

Control Measures: Facilitated introductions, supportive environment, debrief after session

Transport to Sites

Potential Risks: Vehicle accident or delays

Risk Level: Medium

Control Measures: Use licensed transport providers, allow time buffers, emergency contacts available

Nature Workshops

Potential Risks: Allergic reactions (plants, insects)

Control Measures: Collect medical info beforehand, first aid kit, avoid high-risk flora/fauna areas
